Ningbo Economic
and Technological Development Zone has so far
invested over RMB 20 billion in the development of
infrastructures, providing a sound and perfect
environment for domestic and overseas
investors.
Environmental Quality:
Large amounts of money are poured to
environmental protection every year. The Air
Pollution Index (API) is under 60 and air quality
keeps Grade I all the year round.
Electricity:
Nearby are two power plants with a total installed
capacity of 4.05 million KW; inside the Zone,
there are ten transformer substations ranging from
35 KV to 110 KV, providing double-loop and
non-stop power supply to enterprises. Steam
Supply: Two thermoelectricity plants ensure
sufficient steam supply.
Water
Supply: Daily capacity of water supply:
330,000 tons; yearly potential capacity: above 100
million tons.
Sewage
Disposal: The sewage disposal plants,
stations and pump stations can deal with 180,000
tons of wastewater per
day.
Communications: There
are 120,000 program-controlled telephones in the
Zone; IDD, ISDN, DDN etc are all
available.
Liquefied Petroleum
Gas: ESSO Company of the Zone produces
LPG; in the range of 20 km, there are Zhenhai
Petrol-chemical Stock Company and British BP
Petrol Company’s transformation item of one
million tons LPG.
Natural Gas:
Ningbo East Sea Chunxiao’s natural gas
landed Ningbo in June 2005. The pipeline with
237.7 km long and 813mm in diameter is the first
artery of East Sea natural gas, originating from
Sanshan, via
Ningbo, Shaoxing and reaching the destination:
Chongxian, Hangzhou. It not only takes the
responsibility of transporting natural gas to the
cities along the line and to the power plants of
Zhenhai, Yuzhao and Xiaoshan, but also is the
first passage joining “western natural gas”,
with“eastern natural gas” and the Liquefied
Petroleum Gas Station which is under
construction. The length of the
pipeline in Ningbo is about 128km and can supply
0.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually,
1.6 billion cubic meters in 2010, 3 billion cubic
meters in 2020,and the ultimate purpose is 5
billion cubic meters.
